Estela y Virgilio Bed & Breakfast was originally the private residence of Virgilio and Estela. It became a melting pot where their matrimony, Spain, Mexico and their passion and support for the fine arts were intimately mixed within the cosmopolitan culture of Cervantes-capital of America: Guanajuato.
Virgilio designed the house resembling the architecture of his natal Andalucía. The decoration followed the style of his old hacienda, with original antiquities. It was then enriched over twenty-one years with extraordinary pieces of art, reminiscence of their life.
Stories, anecdotes and experiences are hidden in every corner. Rooms and corridors still echo lively gatherings where artists, students, politicians, scientists and intellectuals exchanged ideas, red wine, Spanish tapas and Mexican botanas. It is here where Virgilio dreamed, where he self-proclaimed a citizen of the world. Its walls still resonate ideals for a better world.
The house is enclaved in a private and exclusive neighborhood in Marfil, south west of the city of Guanajuato, and only a fifteen minutes’ drive to the historic centre. Privacy, comfort, arts and tradition await you.
